Hermes Investment Management LTD, also known as Hermes Fund Managers LTD, is an investment management firm based out of London. The company was established in 1983 and has expanded to have an additional location in Singapore. Hermes Investment Management is headed by CEO Saker A. Nusseibeh and has grown to over 250 employees with 108 investment professionals spread across 11 investment teams. The company has a long term perspective and strives to “lead debate and contribute to the transformation of the investment industry, to the benefit of our clients, their stakeholders and, ultimately, society in general.” Hermes Investment Management’s managed assets are most heavily in the fixed income asset type, which alone makes up over a third of its total managed assets, and also includes equities, real estate, private equity, infrastructure, hedge funds, multi assets, and others, in order of decreasing assets. The company invests most heavily in the information technology sector, which alone makes up almost a quarter of its total asset allocations, and also invests in the finance, health care, consumer discretionary, industrials, consumer staples, and energy sectors, among others to a lesser degree, in order of decreasing allocations. Hermes Investment Management holds over $23.4 billion in total assets under management spread across 12 accounts, all of which are discretionary accounts except for 2 that make up $230 million of its managed assets. Although its total number of accounts has dropped drastically from 40 to its current amount, its total managed assets has suffered much lesser losses, decreasing from $24.7 billion in 2010 to its current amount. Hermes Investment Management mainly caters to pension and profit sharing plans and pooled investment vehicles, and also caters to investment companies and others to a lesser degree. The company offers a variety of products and services including its Global Emerging Markets, European Alpha, Global Equity Core, Global Small Cap, and U.S. All Cap strategies.
