In Q2, people and businesses around the world felt impact of COVID-19 pandemic and the related lockdowns. The COVID-19 lockdowns clearly impacted the market demand for UPM products and impact was divided.

Demand for graphic papers seriously suffered as a result of the lockdowns. This affected, of course, the profitability of UPM Communication Papers in Q2. At the same time, strong demand for labor materials and specialty papers was further supported by consumers' reaction during the lockdowns.
