BMW Recalls Imported R1300GS Motorcycles Due to Relay Issues

Recently, BMW (China) Automotive Trading Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in compliance with the "Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products" and its implementation methods.

Starting from September 29, 2024, BMW will recall a total of 298 imported R1300GS motorcycles produced between August 23, 2023, and July 1, 2024.

The affected motorcycles have a defect in the starter relay housing material, making it prone to damage. This defect may allow moisture to enter the relay, potentially causing it to fail. In extreme cases, this could lead to the relay overheating, smoking, smoldering, or even catching fire, posing a safety hazard.
