South Korea's exports in September marked their 12th consecutive month of growth, albeit at a slower pace due to fewer working days caused by holidays. Preliminary data released by the country's trade ministry indicates that the exports grew by 7.5% year-on-year to $58.77 billion. This follows a revised increase of 12.2% in August, and surpasses the median forecast of a 6.5% rise.
The trade ministry also reported a 2.2% year-on-year increase in imports, totaling $52.12 billion, compared to a 6.0% increase in August. This resulted in a trade surplus of $6.66 billion.
