Japanese automakers are keeping a close eye on the potential far-reaching effects of strikes at U.S. ports along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Mazda highlighted that ports in Baltimore, Maryland, and Jacksonville, Florida, are crucial for timely vehicle deliveries, expressing hope for a swift end to the strikes. During ongoing negotiations, Mazda will rely on the inventory of its U.S. dealers.

Honda reported that it had prepared in advance by unloading shipments before the strikes began. Toyota stated it would continue to monitor the situation but declined to comment further. Nissan mentioned that it has not yet received any reports of impacts from the strikes.

East Coast ports in the U.S. have been closed for the first time in nearly 50 years after the union representing workers at every major port on the East Coast went on strike following the expiration of their contract.
