Boeing and Lockheed Martin's Vulcan Rocket Achieves Successful Second Launch

Boeing (BA, Financial) and Lockheed Martin's joint venture, United Launch Alliance, successfully launched its "Vulcan" rocket on its second mission. This achievement marks a critical step towards securing Pentagon mission certification.

The Vulcan rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. It is designed to replace the United Launch Alliance's flagship rocket, Atlas V, and to compete with Elon Musk's SpaceX and its reusable Falcon 9 rocket.
