Leonardo (LDOF, Financial) CEO Roberto Cingolani has announced that the company's cybersecurity division is expected to achieve double-digit growth in the coming years. This reflects the defense firm's strategic emphasis on enhancing its cybersecurity capabilities.

Speaking at the 2024 European Cyber Tech Conference in Rome, Cingolani highlighted the company's ambition to become a crucial player in defense, space, and security sectors, focusing on national and international strategic organizations.

He explained that cybersecurity is at the "core of our strategic development," playing a pivotal role in creating multi-domain solutions for aircraft, helicopters, warfare, and aerospace platforms.

In its industrial plan for 2024-2028 submitted in March, Leonardo outlined its intention to strengthen core operations while also investing in digital transformation. Over the five-year period, the company aims for a 16% increase in orders and a 13% rise in revenue, leveraging opportunities in cybersecurity.
