NVIDIA (NVDA, Financial) has showcased its latest energy-efficient AI chips at the "AI Summit DC" in Washington D.C., leading to a stock surge of over 4%, marking a three-month high. The company highlighted that its Blackwell chips, introduced this year, allow the development of OpenAI's GPT-4 with just 3 GW of power, a significant reduction from the 5500 GW needed a decade ago.

NVIDIA's Vice President emphasized the company's focus on energy efficiency with the Blackwell platform. NVIDIA also revealed advancements in software, like its "agent blueprints" for rapidly deploying custom AI services. These software agents handle real-world tasks such as customer requests and drug development acceleration.

This event contributed to the rise in NVIDIA's shares, which have already grown over 239% this year. Despite being a key beneficiary of AI spending, NVIDIA's revenue primarily comes from a small group of data center manufacturers and operators. The company's initiative is to expand AI usage into more domains, laying the groundwork for a new industrial revolution.

NVIDIA is advocating for smaller, custom AI models tailored to specific purposes, differing from general tools like ChatGPT. These efforts aim to make AI integration seamless across various sectors, including healthcare, where NVIDIA has been preparing for significant change through drug development innovations over the past decade.

Companies like AT&T (T), Lowe's (LOW), and ServiceNow (NOW) are also adopting NVIDIA's technology, along with Deloitte incorporating NVIDIA's software in its CyberSphere online security services.
