Amazon (AMZN) is set to expand its streaming offerings by adding Apple’s (AAPL, Financial) Apple TV+ service to its U.S. channel store. Popular shows like "Ted Lasso" and "Slow Horses" will now be available through Amazon's video marketplace. Apple TV+ subscriptions will be accessible via Amazon Prime later this month, as stated by Mike Hopkins, Amazon Prime Video's senior vice president.

Hopkins highlighted that their platform offers channel partners access to hundreds of millions of global users, making it a valuable opportunity for partners to connect with Prime members worldwide through Prime Video. Amazon currently sells over 100 streaming services within its channel store, where customers can watch content from Max, Paramount+, and Hallmark, among others.

Until now, Apple TV+ was one of the only major streaming services not offered in Amazon's channel store, alongside Netflix (NFLX) and Disney's (DIS) key assets. Both Netflix and Disney have more viewers than Prime Video. Despite Apple's significant investments in original content and its success in winning industry awards, its streaming service has yet to attract as many subscribers as Netflix and Amazon.

This new deal enhances the existing collaboration between Amazon and Apple. Since 2017, Amazon has offered the Prime Video app on Apple TV set-top boxes, with Prime Video also integrated into the Apple TV app across Apple's device lineup. The two companies are retail partners, with Apple operating an official store on Amazon's website. Hopkins also mentioned that Amazon anticipates further integration and expects its streaming service to become profitable soon.
