Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced efforts to transform the platform into a zero-emission operation, marking significant progress towards their 2040 goal. Uber aims to introduce over 182,000 electric vehicles (EVs) into its fleet. Despite this progress, the company recognizes the need for greater urgency and innovation in both public and private sectors to meet environmental goals.

To further expedite fleet electrification, Uber introduced new features, including high-end EV pop-ups for passengers in cities like London, Los Angeles, Miami, and Dallas. These pop-ups allow passengers to experience electric vehicles such as the Lotus Eletre and Rivian R1.

Additionally, a new AI assistant powered by OpenAI's GPT-40 will be integrated into the driver app to address common queries drivers have about electric vehicles.
