In September, the U.S. housing starts experienced a slight decline. The downturn in multifamily construction outpaced the recovery observed in single-family home building. According to government data, new housing starts fell by 0.5% from the previous month, reaching an annualized rate of 1.35 million units. This figure aligns with the median forecast provided by surveyed economists.
