Eric Quinnell, a highly regarded engineer at Tesla (TSLA, Financial), announced on LinkedIn that he will be leaving the company after nearly four years. Quinnell played a crucial role in Tesla's Dojo supercomputer project, a significant part of the company's AI initiatives. He also contributed to developing the Tesla Transport Protocol over Ethernet (TTPoE), which Tesla recently open-sourced, highlighting its commitment to innovation and collaboration within the tech community.

Before joining Tesla, Quinnell worked at various tech giants, including Samsung's R&D Center in Austin and AMD, and had a stint at Arm. His rich background in tech R&D paved the way for his successful tenure at Tesla. Quinnell is now set to embark on a new chapter in his career at Tranium.

Quinnell's departure is part of a broader trend of leadership changes at Tesla. Recently, Ashok Elluswamy was promoted to Tesla AI Software Vice President, Milan Kovic advanced to Vice President of the Optimus humanoid robot project from Autopilot Software Engineering, and Omead Afshar was appointed Senior Vice President of Sales and Manufacturing.

These organizational shifts also come with the exit of some key Tesla figures. In August, Sreela Venkataratnam, Vice President of Finance and Operations, left after 11 years. Earlier this year, Renjue Zhu, head of manufacturing at Tesla's Texas Gigafactory, and Drew Baglino, Senior Vice President of Powertrain and Energy Engineering, also departed.
