Honeywell (HON, Financial) and Google have announced a partnership to integrate cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology with industrial data, aiming to simplify autonomous operations for clients. This collaboration combines Google’s advanced AI, Gemini, from Alphabet, with industrial data gathered via Honeywell's Forge platform. The objective is to automate tasks and reduce project timelines in industries facing persistent labor shortages.

The AI-driven tools are designed to assist engineers, warehouse workers, and technicians in automating tasks, with the initial AI solutions expected to roll out to Honeywell's customers in 2025. According to Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur, achieving autonomy requires assets to work harder, people to work smarter, and processes to be more efficient.

Honeywell highlighted that these AI-driven agents, developed using Google's Vertex AI platform, will shorten project design cycles. They will allow users to process various data types, such as images, videos, text, and sensor readings. Honeywell aims to leverage the latest advancements in AI technology through this partnership to decrease maintenance costs, boost operational efficiency, and enhance workforce skills for their clients.
