South Korea's Kospi Index fell by 1.1% to 2,577.47 points, with Samsung Electronics (005930, Financial) contributing significantly to the decline with a 1.4% drop. SK Oceanplant Co. experienced the largest loss, plummeting by 8.1%.
Out of 840 traded stocks, 622 declined while 165 advanced. Among the 18 industry sectors, 15 fell, with the electrical and electronic equipment sectors facing the most pressure.
