WeRide (WRD, Financial), a global leader in autonomous driving technology, has officially listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. This milestone marks WeRide as the first universal autonomous driving company and the first global Robotaxi stock to go public. The IPO is priced at $15.5 per American Depository Share, with a total of 8,903,760 shares issued, including the full exercise of the underwriters' over-allotment option. Together with previously disclosed private placements amounting to $320 million, the total fundraising from this public offering could reach $458.5 million.
WeRide stands out as the only technology company holding autonomous driving licenses in China, the UAE, Singapore, and the United States. The company has been conducting autonomous driving research, testing, and operations in 30 cities across seven countries with over 1,700 days of operation. Notably, WeRide secured the eighth spot on Fortune's 2023 list of companies changing the world, being the only Chinese tech company in the top ten. Founder and CEO Tony Han stated that the successful IPO is a new beginning for WeRide, as they continue to innovate and expand their safe, comfortable, and convenient autonomous driving products and services to more regions worldwide.
