Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., the parent company of Foxconn, plans to invest $80 million to expand its operations in Vietnam through its subsidiary, ShunSin Technology. According to a document from Vietnam's Ministry of Environment, ShunSin Technology intends to establish a factory in Bac Giang province focused on the production of integrated circuits. The facility is expected to be fully operational by December 2026, with an annual production goal of 4.5 million integrated circuits.

The integrated circuits manufactured at this new facility will primarily be exported to the United States, European Union, and Japan. This investment follows Hon Hai's previous approval in July to invest $383 million in another printed circuit board factory in Vietnam, highlighting the company's commitment to expanding its footprint in the region.

Since entering Vietnam in the early 21st century, Hon Hai has invested over $3.2 billion, with most of its factories located in northern provinces like Bac Ninh and Bac Giang.
