Apple Inc. (AAPL, Financial) has reportedly offered to invest nearly $10 million in Indonesia in a bid to lift the sales ban on its latest iPhone models. The plan includes building a factory in Bandung, Indonesia, which will produce components and accessories for Apple products.
The ban was imposed by Indonesia's Ministry of Industry last month, after Apple’s local subsidiary failed to comply with the regulation requiring 40% of smartphone and tablet components to be locally manufactured. The Ministry is currently reviewing Apple’s proposal for the new facility and is expected to make a decision soon.
