Microsoft has unveiled a new AI text editing feature called "Rewrite" for its Notepad software, available for preview by Windows Insiders. This feature allows users to rephrase sentences, adjust tone, and modify content length using artificial intelligence. Users can access the Rewrite function by right-clicking on selected text and choosing from three rewritten versions.

Additionally, Microsoft is testing new AI image editing tools within Paint for Insiders. These tools include the Generative Fill feature, which adds images based on prompts, and the Generative Erase feature, which removes parts of an image and seamlessly fills the empty spaces.

The Rewrite feature requires users to log in with a Microsoft account and is currently available for preview in the United States, France, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, and Germany on Windows 11.
