Netflix (NFLX, Financial) is set to be in the spotlight with its Christmas NFL broadcasts featuring the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans. A special halftime performance by Beyoncé is planned for the Ravens vs. Texans game.

Previously, Netflix experienced significant service disruptions during the Tyson vs. Paul boxing match, which was offered free to subscribers. Issues such as buffering and audio problems led to a poor user experience. Netflix has since identified infrastructure stress points and has made adjustments to its content transmission, encoding, and streaming protocols to prevent future issues.

For investors, the NFL games are notable as Netflix will include ad slots from sponsors like FanDuel and Verizon. Netflix's three-year Christmas broadcast deal with the NFL does not guarantee more than one game per year for 2025 and 2026. Looking ahead, Netflix has secured agreements to broadcast WWE and the Women's World Cup from 2027 to 2031.
