Apple Inc. (AAPL, Financial) has announced that its streaming service, Apple TV, will be available for free over the weekend of January 4-5, 2025. This initiative is part of Apple's efforts to promote its services division, which set a new record with its revenue in the fourth fiscal quarter ending September 2024.
During this period, the services segment generated $24.97 billion in revenue, marking an approximately 11.9% year-over-year increase. Despite the growth, this figure fell short of analysts' expectations of $25.27 billion. Apple's services division also includes the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay, iCloud, and Apple TV+.
