According to South Korean media, Apple (AAPL, Financial) plans to delay the incorporation of TSMC's (TSM) 2nm chips into iPhones until next year. Initially, the iPhone 17 series was expected to be the first to feature these advanced chips this year. Currently, TSMC is conducting process tests with companies like Apple, NVIDIA (NVDA), and AMD (AMD), and Apple is expected to be the first to adopt the 2nm technology.

Reports from Taiwan indicate that TSMC's 2nm chip yield exceeds 60%, and each wafer could cost around $30,000. TSMC is working to boost production capacity by increasing its 2nm wafer output from 10,000 to 130,000 per month by next year. Additionally, TSMC plans to expand its 3nm wafer production in Arizona by an extra 20,000 per month.
