LG Electronics has announced a partnership with U.S. software giant Microsoft (MSFT, Financial) to integrate Microsoft's artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into its consumer electronics. This collaboration was highlighted by LG Electronics CEO William Cho at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The companies aim to enhance AI capabilities across residential, vehicle, hotel, and office spaces.
Currently, LG Electronics is utilizing Microsoft’s voice recognition and synthesis technologies to power AI home hubs. The plan is to develop AI agents that go beyond basic interaction, predicting customer needs and preferences. In addition to consumer applications, Microsoft and LG Electronics will also collaborate in the AI data center sector. Microsoft's Chief Commercial Officer, Judson Althoff, noted the partnership will leverage LG's thermal management and advanced cooling technologies to create the next generation of data facilities.
