Australian Market Rebounds as Mining and Energy Stocks Surge

The Australian stock market ended its three-day losing streak, driven by gains in mining and energy sectors due to stronger commodity prices. The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.5% to close at 8,235.00 points.

BHP Group (BHP, Financial) significantly contributed to the index's rise with a 0.8% increase. Star Entertainment Group Ltd. saw the largest gain, soaring 12.0%. Out of the 200 stocks traded in the early session, 159 advanced while 36 declined, with all sectors closing higher, led by materials stocks.
