Edelman Financial Services is currently one of the largest independent financial planning firms in the U.S. and operates its business both online and through its 41 offices located around the country. The company has been ranked the top independent financial advisor by Barron and the company has been providing its services to clients since 1987. Edelman Financial Services utilizes both research done in house and externally to conduct its investment business. The company invests almost exclusively in the finance sector, which alone makes up over 80% of its total asset allocations, and also invests in the materials and energy sectors to a lesser degree. Edelman Financial Services believes in investing its assets in key market indexes and the company’s top holdings include the iShares Russell 1000 Value Index Fund, Vanguard Index Funds Vanguard Growth ETF, iShares iBoxx Investment Grade Corporate Bond Fund, Vanguard REIT ETF, iShares S&P North American Natural Resources Sector Index Fund, iShares Exponential Technologies ETF, and iShares Trust - Core S&P Mid-Cap 400 Exchange Traded Fund with its top 10 holdings alone making up over 95% of its total holdings. The company currently holds over $14.4 billion in total assets spread across 63,400 accounts, all of which are discretionary. Its total managed assets has been increasing in recent years, significantly growing from $4 billion to well over three times that amount today.
