Dow Jones Surges to Record High Before Retreating; NIO Gains Over 12%

On September 27, the U.S. stock market saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) expand its gains to 1%, reaching a new record high of 42,606.1 points, before pulling back. As of the time of writing, the Dow is up 0.98%, while the Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) is down 0.13%, and the S&P 500 (SPX) is up 0.19%.

Major tech stocks showed mixed performance. Alphabet (GOOGL) increased by 1.48%, Apple (AAPL, Financial) rose 0.70%, Tesla (TSLA) gained 0.31%, NVIDIA (NVDA) fell 2.12%, Amazon (AMZN) declined 0.56%, Meta (META) dropped 0.29%, and Microsoft (MSFT) slipped 0.02%.

Chinese stocks saw significant gains. As of the time of writing, NIO (NIO) surged over 12%, XPeng (XPEV) climbed over 7%, Pinduoduo (PDD) and Trip.com (TCOM) increased over 6%, New Oriental (EDU) rose over 5%, Alibaba (BABA), NetEase (NTES), JD.com (JD), and Li Auto (LI) gained over 3%.
