NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang has outlined a future for artificial intelligence that focuses on services capable of "reasoning," which could revolutionize AI systems by changing how they handle inferencing. To reach this stage, Huang emphasized the need for reducing computational costs.

Jensen Huang revealed that NVIDIA aims to significantly enhance chip performance by two to three times annually while maintaining the same energy and cost levels. These advancements will lay the groundwork for more sophisticated AI processes.

During a podcast hosted by Arm's CEO Rene Haas, Huang explained that the next generation of AI tools will be able to solve problems through complex, multi-step reflections, setting them apart from current systems like OpenAI's ChatGPT. Huang, who is a daily user of ChatGPT, underlined the potential for dramatically lowering the cost of deploying intelligent systems.

NVIDIA shared insights into the next phase of AI development at an AI summit, highlighting applications across advanced autonomous agents, robotic factories, weather forecasting, cancer treatment, and even extraterrestrial communication.
