Tesla has announced plans to offer permanent positions to 500 temporary workers at its German Gigafactory near Berlin, effective from November 1. This move is seen as a positive assessment of the future growth in electric vehicle production.
The Grünheide plant is Tesla's sole Gigafactory in Europe and currently employs approximately 12,000 people. During a recent staff meeting, union chair Michaela Schmitz urged management to reduce temporary roles and increase permanent employment opportunities for workers.
