The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Office of Defects Investigation has initiated a comprehensive investigation into Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. This decision follows multiple reports of Tesla vehicles, equipped with FSD, being involved in collisions in low-visibility areas, resulting in injuries and fatalities.
The investigation will encompass approximately 2.41 million Tesla vehicles, including the 2017-2024 Model 3 and the 2020-2024 Model Y. The probe aims to assess the safety implications of the FSD feature across these models.
