JD.com is piloting a service where delivery riders can also help dispose of trash for customers. This service is currently in a trial phase across a limited number of cities, including Beijing, Suqian, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. The initiative is still in the planning and testing stages and has not been officially launched.

The service is designed to trigger only when customers express a clear need for it. Delivery riders are being provided with disposable gloves and disinfectant for safe handling of trash. During the trial, the platform is offering a subsidy of 0.5 yuan per order to the riders, with customers having the option to tip riders at their discretion.

Based on feedback from these tests, JD.com plans to assess and refine the service before a wider rollout. The company emphasizes that this added feature aims to enhance overall customer satisfaction and convenience.
