Ramaco Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: METC) is set to celebrate a historic milestone with the ribbon cutting of the Brook Mine Carbon Ore Rare Earth project in Ranchester, Wyoming, on July 11, 2025. This marks the first new rare earth mine established in the United States in over 70 years, and the first coal mine opened in Wyoming in over 50 years.

The event, themed "American Independence: A Rare Earth Revolution," will be attended by prominent figures such as U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, U.S. Senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis, U.S. Representative Harriet Hageman, and former U.S. Senator Joe Manchin.

According to Randall W. Atkins, Chairman and CEO of Ramaco Resources, the Brook Mine will significantly contribute to fulfilling the nation's demand for critical minerals, reducing dependency on foreign resources, particularly from China. The project aims to establish a domestic supply chain of strategic rare earths and critical minerals.

The Brook Mine deposit is substantial enough to supply a significant portion of the U.S. critical minerals needs for decades. "This is more than a ribbon-cutting — it's a declaration of America's resolve to reclaim its leadership in critical minerals and energy independence," stated Atkins.

Senator John Barrasso emphasized the importance of harnessing Wyoming's coal resources to power advanced technologies, while Senator Cynthia Lummis highlighted the state's role in shaping energy trends and economic growth through this new development. Governor Mark Gordon noted Wyoming's position as a leader in energy innovation and the expansion of critical mineral industries.

The ribbon-cutting event, open to the press and various stakeholders, underscores a strategic milestone in the U.S.'s efforts to secure critical minerals necessary for defense, technology, and clean energy.
