Flexible Solutions International, Inc. (FSI), a developer and manufacturer of biodegradable polymers and environmentally safe technologies, announced the receipt of a $2.5 million payment on July 1, 2025. This payment was made for assisting in the development of a new food grade product, reinforcing the company's focus on expanding into the food and nutrition supplement manufacturing markets.
FSI, known for its products in oil extraction, detergent ingredients, water treatment, and crop nutrient chemistry, might also receive additional payments for the development work in coming quarters. Such future benefits could be supported by the company's NCS division, which may secure manufacturing contracts for the newly developed product.
CEO Dan O'Brien expressed optimism regarding the recent R&D revenue and highlighted FSI's aim to establish long-term production relationships as a food-grade manufacturer. The company's strategic focus on entering the food and nutrition markets was marked by its FDA food-grade approval for its Peru, IL plant in 2022.
While the initial $2.5 million marks a significant achievement, FSI acknowledges the possibility of additional payments being several quarters away, depending on the product's success. Similarly, manufacturing contracts are not yet guaranteed, leaving room for further announcements as opportunities develop.
