- Big Ridge Gold Corp (OTCQB: ALVLF) reports successful ore sorting study results from Hope Brook Gold Project.
- The study effectively removed 27.8% of waste material and 73.4% of zero-grade samples using TOMRA technology.
- This breakthrough is expected to optimize future mill processing and tailings management designs.
Big Ridge Gold Corp (OTCQB: ALVLF) has announced promising results from its ore sorting study conducted at the Hope Brook Gold Project in Newfoundland and Labrador. The study, executed by Tomra in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), effectively identified and segregated unmineralized material, which currently constitutes about 25% of the resource estimate mineral envelopes.
Using a TOMRA COM Tertiary XRT System set with a density factor of H85, the study processed 69.0 kg of Hope Brook material. The sorting system efficiently removed 19.15 kg of waste, representing 27.8% of tested material and 73.4% of identified zero-grade samples. This advancement in sorting technology is anticipated to significantly influence future economic assessments by enhancing mill processing and tailings management designs, thereby potentially increasing operational efficiency.
While the study was conducted on a relatively small sample size of 76 kilograms, and results were based on visual estimations rather than assaying, the findings support the potential integration of Sensor Based Sorting (SBS) in future feasibility studies at the Hope Brook Gold Project.
The Hope Brook Gold Project hosts an Indicated gold resource totaling 16,190,000 tonnes, with a grading of 2.32 grams per tonne gold, amounting to 1.2 million ounces. It also has Inferred resources totaling 2,215,000 tonnes with a grading of 3.25 grams per tonne gold for 231,000 ounces, based on specific cut-off grades for open pit and underground resources.
Located 85 kilometers east of Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, the project boasts well-maintained infrastructure, including an operational 28-person camp, an airstrip, a docking facility, and connection to the provincial electrical grid, all positioning Big Ridge Gold Corp for optimized and efficient operations.
