VIAVI Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAV) has expanded its VALOR (VIAVI Automated Lab-as-a-Service for Open RAN) facility in Chandler, Arizona, by introducing colocation capabilities. This enhancement is designed to meet the increasing demands for comprehensive Open RAN testing services.
Funded by the U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) through the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund (PWSCIF), the VALOR facility now offers both on-demand and semi-permanent testing setups. This flexibility allows customers to engage in longer-term testing throughout the product lifecycle, benefiting from secure, isolated testing environments ensured by VLAN segregation.
The upgraded VALOR lab features a state-of-the-art RF chamber for system-level Massive MIMO performance testing, supporting up to 16 parallel spatial layers. The facility is equipped with VIAVI's industry-leading NITRO Wireless Open RAN Test Suite, which, together with a knowledgeable support team, enables vendors to accelerate product testing and market entry without significant upfront investments in testing infrastructure.
"With the introduction of colocation capabilities, VIAVI's VALOR lab can cater to both vendors seeking specific tests during development and those needing comprehensive, long-term testing solutions," noted Erik Probstfield, Senior Director, VALOR at VIAVI. This development aligns with the NTIA and PWSCIF's mission to foster open, secure wireless ecosystems by leveraging federal funding to attract private investment.
VIAVI Solutions continues to provide cutting-edge testing, monitoring, and assurance solutions for various industries, establishing itself as a crucial partner in advancing network and wireless technology innovations.
