Rex Minerals Ltd at Noosa Mining Conference (Virtual) Transcript
Thanks a lot. You run a fantastic event. It sucks from my bedroom in Melbourne, there is no other way to say it, and I wish I was up there with you. In fact, last time I was there, in 2019 now, I actually announced that we were going to acquire the Hog Ranch project. So that was the first time anyone had heard about it and that's part of taking Rex in a new direction and bringing a gold project to the story. So we did that. And since then, I think gold's gone from $1,400 to $1,900.
At the same time, copper was in the toilet, trading around $2.30 to $2.50, and copper is now above $3, about $3.15. At the same time, the market cap of Rex, which was around $17 million when I spoke to you last, that's bounced nicely to about $48 million, still makes us the cheapest copper or gold play anywhere in the world on market. So a lot of work ahead, but things are looking fantastic and looking up for Rex Minerals, for sure.
