Thin Film Electronics ASA Thinfilm Investor Day -- February 2020 Transcript
Good morning, everyone. Thank you for coming to this day of investment presentation for Thinfilm's new strategy. It's been a journey this last year, what we've gone through to come to this point. And so I'm really happy to present [the focus] we're going to be going forward and focusing on leveraging Thinfilm's existing factory and intellectual property to deliver differentiated solid-state lithium batteries.
Just a reminder of kind of the milestones that occurred in the last year to get us here. So last year, we said we're going to separate the two businesses of the factory and NFC, and we pursued that. In the middle of the summer, we realized that the NFC business was really insufficient to fund the factory itself. And in parallel, because we had announced in March that we were going to pursue the factory as a separate business, we received a lot of increase of what different applications we can make using this factory.
And one of the things that was a really common theme was to make batteries, and that resulted in us choosing to take this
