Manulife Financial Corp Annual Shareholders Meeting Transcript
Good morning and thank you for joining us today. On behalf of our Board, we welcome you to the Annual Meetings of Manulife Financial Corporation and the Manufacturers Life Insurance Company. My name is John Cassaday, Chairman of the Board.
We find ourselves in extraordinary circumstances this year, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. And following directions from public health and government authorities, we have been taking all recommended precautionary measures to help keep everyone safe and to do our part to help flatten the curve. We, like many other Canadian financial institutions, are holding our annual meeting electronically this year instead of in person. It is our belief this measure protects the health and well-being of our shareholders, policyholders, employees and other stakeholders. At the same time, we believe it supports shareholder and policyholder engagement and enable shareholders and policyholders to participate in this meeting by voting electronically and asking questions.
