Ramsay Health Care Ltd Annual Shareholders Meeting Transcript
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. For those who don't know me, my name is Michael Siddle, and I'm the Chairman of Ramsay Healthcare. On behalf of the Board and management, I extend to you a warm welcome to the company's 2021 Annual General Meeting. I'm informed that we have a quorum present, and accordingly, I declare the meeting open.
I'd like to begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians on the land on which we meet here today in Sydney, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and I pay my respects to elders, past and present.
Whilst we had hoped to be able to hold an in-person meeting this year, given the uncertainty caused by this year's lockdowns and the potential health risks arising from the COVID pandemic, the Board determined to hold this year's Annual General Meeting virtually. We appreciate your understanding and for joining the virtual meeting, and I can assure you it is our intention to return to face-to-face meetings as soon as possible.
