Ladies and gentlemen, I hereby open the 60th Annual General Meeting of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft from the DRIVE Volkswagen Group Forum in Berlin.
According to the articles of association, I will chair the meeting. Let me welcome you, our shareholders, representatives from the media and everybody who is watching this. And let me do so on behalf of all my colleagues on the Supervisory Board and the Board of Management as well. We'd have loved to be able to welcome you face-to-face in the CityCube in Berlin. However, the unusual situation does not allow us to do so, unfortunately. Due to the health risks still present based on the coronavirus, the Board of Management took a decision supported by the Supervisory Board to hold this year's Annual General Meeting as a virtual AGM that is without the shareholders and their proxies being present physically. We thus use the option granted by the legislator based on the so-called COVID-19 Act. The virtual Annual General Meeting allows us to protect the health of our
