Half Year 2021 Sonic Healthcare Ltd Earnings Call Transcript
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Sonic Healthcare's first half results presentation for financial year 2021. My name is Colin Goldschmidt. I'm the CEO of Sonic Healthcare. And I'm joined today by my colleagues, Chris Wilks, who's Sonic's CFO; and Paul Alexander, who is Sonic's Deputy CFO.
Before taking you through our slide pack, which I hope you have in front of you, I'd like to take a couple of minutes just to make a few introductory comments, which might help to set the scene for this result and also provide a setting for Sonic's current and future position.
So the half year to December 31, 2020, was dominated by the pandemic and the critical COVID-19 testing we're doing for the countries in which we operate. Since the pandemic's outbreak in February, March last year, that's almost a year ago now, we've performed over 18 million COVID PCR tests in 60 separate Sonic labs and in 8 countries of operation.
